Este estudio se enmarca en el Proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n AECI (A\/010732\/07): Experimentaci\u00f3n de un modelo de cooperaci\u00f3n Iberoamericana soportada por TIC para la innovaci\u00f3n universitaria. Tal como plantea la literatura actual, el rol del e-tutor cobra una relevancia muy significativa, a trav\u00e9s, fundamentalmente, de las tutor\u00edas virtuales. Esto le exige al profesorado el desarrollo de competencias y funciones espec\u00edficas para ser capaz de ejercer el proceso de ense\u00f1anza en este entorno tecnol\u00f3gico. En este contexto, el trabajo describe las competencias que definen el perfil requerido para el ejercicio de la e-tutor\u00eda y las buenas pr\u00e1cticas tutoriales partiendo de las percepciones de los e-tutores participantes del estudio. A trav\u00e9s de un dise\u00f1o de car\u00e1cter exploratorio se tom\u00f3 una muestra compuesta por treinta y cuatro e-tutores que desempe\u00f1an sus funciones en las instituciones argentinas intervinientes en el proyecto AECID: Universidad de Belgrano (UB), Universidad CAECE y Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales (UCES).
