Sumario:We have studied the T dependence of the susceptibility, χ(T), in the paramagnetic phase of the distorted perovskite series Y1-xCaxMnO3. We have observed different regimes depending on the level of doping. For x∼0 and 1 we found a localized behavior for the eg electrons and a delocalized one for intermediate doping (0.2<x≤0.8). For the delocalized regime we present a mean-field description for χ(T) that includes the interaction between localized and itinerant eg electrons. We compare our results with the less distorted series La1-xCaxMnO3. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
