Synthesis and superconducting properties of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 obtained from binary oxides

We introduce a new method of synthesis starting from pure binary oxides in order to obtain the 2212 superconductor, and we study by resistivity and ac susceptibility its behavior at different stages of the process. We discuss the reaction path and the impurities contents. We find that samples prepar...

Sumario:We introduce a new method of synthesis starting from pure binary oxides in order to obtain the 2212 superconductor, and we study by resistivity and ac susceptibility its behavior at different stages of the process. We discuss the reaction path and the impurities contents. We find that samples prepared from binary oxides have higher purity (single phase), higher conductivity and higher critical currents than those prepared from simple oxides following the same process. © 1991.
