Sumario:The aim of this study was to assess the physiatric contribution to a multidisciplinary palliative care team for the management of terminally ill cancer patients. In these patients, pain constitutes the main distress, and physiatric resources provide an important tool to control this disturb. Other signs and symptoms such as eschars, respiratory insufficiency, peripheric vascular insufficiency, akinesia hypomyotrophica, dorso postural pain, fear and affliction, also can be controlled by physiatric management. A decrease of pain intensity can be also achieved with analgesic iontophoresis, electroblock, relax and positive heterosuggestion.
