Sumario:The leaves of Datura ferox yielded a new withanolide, 5α,12α,15β-trihydroxy-6α,7α-epoxy-1-oxo-22R-witha-2,24-dienolide (15β-hydroxynicandrin B), in addition to nicandrin B, withanicandrin, withastramonolide and withametelin E previously reported from Datura species. The structure and stereochemistry of 15β-hydroxynicandrin B was established on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and molecular modelling. © 1995.
