Sumario:In line with project PIACyT 34/0546, called “Expanded Ceramics. Disciplinary Conceptualization. Contemporary Production and Practices. Pedagogic Experiences and Contributions at UNA (National University of the Arts). Part 1”, we conceive this new project in a second stage. We believe it is necessary to continue deepening the concept of Expanded Ceramics, since a revisión of the disciplinary territoriality has led us to consider a series of critical reflective questions which entail multiple views about recurrent issues in the pedagogic practice and, therefore, in current productions. One of the fundamental questions that involve us as artists, teachers and researchers is the following: How may the historical structures of the discipline, derived from the European tradition of ceramics, have determined both the artistic production and practices and the pedagogic network at an institutional level? In relation to this proposal, disciplinary and interdisciplinary issues are also part of our field of research. Both in our undergraduate and graduate pedagogic practices, there arise multiple questions which constitute a core of study and application as experiential pedagogic practices. In turn, and within this disciplinary revision, our project falls within the contemporary opening-up of ceramics materiality and its possible extensions, expanding ceramic materials into raw clay, plaster, cement, and glass. Within this conceptual framework, we will continue to analyse some practices and productions of contemporary ceramist and non-ceramist artists who contribute to the construction of this new field of study.
