Sumario:Energy poverty is a specific dimension of poverty in which households find very difficult to afford energy costs. We consider energetic poor those who must spend more than 10% of their income, after food expenses, to pay the cost of a minimum energy basket. The severe energetic poor are those who must allocate more than 10% of the total family income to afford that energy basket. According to the methodology used, 52.58% of the households in the metropolitan region (CABA and AMBA) are energetic poor, considering the new gas and electricity fares, and market price for the gas cylinder in April 2017. The severe energetic poor are 27.45%. The fact that a household has or does not have access to the natural gas network is a variable that increases energy poverty by almost 25%.
