| Sumario: | This paper presents final results of a UNDAVCYT 2011 research project. The project objective was to analyze the incidence of a public policy, “Envión” program, in the educational and labor careers of young people aged 16 to 21, who participate in it in Avellaneda. Focusing on the program as a case of youth policy, the paper discusses how key elements of the Rights of the Child approach, such as integrality and interinstitucionality, are implemented. Also, the institutional arrangements that support the daily operation of the program are discussed. In regard to the Program’s impact on young people’s trajectories, the factors associated to school dropout are identified as well as the impact of the Envión Program on such factors and, therefore, on high school completion. Finally, the limits of the program to promote better employment are analyzed. |
