The emphasis is on China’s economic growthsince the late 1970s, Deng Xiaoping’s reforms, and its transformation intoa global power with a high demand for natural resources. The article also explores China’s investment and cooperation strategies in South America, including its role in infrastructure projects and financing. The analysis concludes with a reflection on how Milei’s administration may influence the future of relations between the two countries. El artículo analiza la evolución de las relaciones entre la República PopularChina (RPCh) y la República Argentina desde la normalización de suslazos diplomáticos en 1972 hasta la presidencia de Javier Milei en 2023.Se destacan hitos fundamentales, como la firma del Tratado de Amistad, Comercio y Navegación en 1973, y se evalúa el impacto de contextos internacionales y nacionales en esta relación bilateral. Se enfatiza el crecimiento económico de China desde finales de los años 70, las reformas de Deng Xiaoping y su transformación en una potencia global con alta demanda de recursos naturales. Asimismo, se examinan las estrategias de inversión y cooperación de China en América del Sur, incluyendo su papel en proyectos de infraestructura y financiamiento. El análisis concluye con una reflexión sobre cómo la llegada de Milei al poder puede influir en el futuro de las relaciones entre ambos países.
