The objectives of this study were to describe the prevalent health problems, medication use and possible relations between the two in a rural elderly population. In this way it was performed a volunteer household survey with closed questions. The results were: a rural population, of 72 years in average, with prevalence of cardiovascular problems. The most prescribed drug was enalapril. The 29.73% of patients did not receive health care in the last 6 months. Polypharmacy doesn't appear in this population.
