Sumario:MORAL IDENTITY AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH PROSOCIAL BEHAVIORS IN EMERGING ADULTHOOD In the ield of moral psychology, the concept of moral identity has gathered strength. It refers to the importance of morality for the self. Many studies have highlighted the relationship between moral identity and prosocial behaviors. These are voluntary behaviors that beneit other people. Moral identity has been considered as a result of the tension among the values of agency (promotion of self-inter-est) and communion (concern for the interests of the group or the community). The study considers the relationship between moral identity and prosocial behaviors using an instrument that allows to identify the values of agency and communion that underlie the par -ticipants´ answers. Thirty participants will answer to the Damon and Hart´s Self-Understanding Interview and to the Rushton, Chrisjohn and Fekken´s Self-Report Altruism Scale. We expect to ind that the values of communion will predict prosocial behaviors and that the values of agency will negatively correlate with prosocial behaviors. Besides, we expect that when both values are present in the same segment of a narrative, it will serve as the best predictor of pro-social behaviors. Results of the research will be presented at the scientiic meeting.
