Sumario:Studies on the formation of group memory have highlighted the importance of the group narrator’s statements, as well as the speaker’s trustworthiness. Studies on the comprehension of discourse have underlined the importance of the role of causal connectivity. The purpose of this investigation was to explore the effect of the causal connections of a statement, the conversational role and the trustworthiness of the speaker in the recall of conversational statements. Results indicated that the number of causal connections and the trustworthiness of the speaker have an effect on the probability of recalling conversational statements, which in turn suggests that the formation of group memory involves a series of psychological and social factors.
