Sumario:In this paper we analyze the agenda-setting function in the political commu-nication arena. In the first place, we compare the public agenda built by the consulted sample with the media agen-da, aiming to determine if the mass media agenda influences the problems considered as the most important na-tional problems by the public. In the second place, we analyze the perceived dynamics between three different a-gendas: the media agenda, the public agenda and the political agenda. Fina-lly, regarding the obtained data, we comment on the role of mass media in the definition of public and political issues as perceived by public opinion.
