| Sumario: | CSR's background goes back to the nineteenth century. With globalization,
political, economic al and social changes happened throughout the world. These
aspects also influenced the emergence of Corporate Social Responsibility.
From the point of view of society, there is a new and very firm stance which calls
for respect for human rights, workers rights, environmental protection, solidarity
and transparency in the information issued by organizations.
These needs arise as a consequence of the damage occurred in relevant
companies in the world: poor management of nonrenewable resources harming
future generations, irregularities in the information transmitted, bad deals and
investments, etc. |
