| Sumario: | Abstract: This article is part of a Ph.D. thesis about a faction of the Radical Party
in Argentine called “antipersonalistas” in the thirties and fourties. It is about
the making of a presidential candidate out of a member of the Army who had
been War Minister in the twenties. The article shows how this man and his
supporters built up a coalition of “antipersonalistas” radicals, conservatives,
independent socialists and independent citizens in most of the provinces and
on the national level, and won the elections in november 1932. |
