Sumario:This study proposes a conceptual model to assess innovation capabilities and sustainability outcomes in university-based R&D centers (NACTs) within the AgTech ecosystem. Applying the model to FISFARVET at UNICEN, the research evaluates technological and relational capabilities through mixed data sources. Results highlight the center’s significant scientific output, partnerships with public and private actors, and innovations in animal health and sustainable livestock. The findings underscore the importance of university–industry linkages in democratizing access to AgTech innovations, especially for small-scale producers. The model offers a transferable framework for analyzing capabilities in other knowledge-intensive sectors.
