Sumario:This article attempts to make an immanent reading of some of the last poems published by Juan L. Ortiz, which relate to the question of time. In some cases, the dates provide such a temporary indication; in another, a season of the year is called. The poems are therefore dedicated to an observation of the landscape in certain temporal circumstances, which in the testimonies of the poet acquire philosophical reach on the speculative function of poetry as a genre. In our reading, the image of time, between fluidity and discontinuity, is related to rhythm, with breaks in metric and syntactic units in Ortiz’s last writing. So to the philosophical interpretation of the poems we add an analysis of some formal features, since the image of time would also be in them an scansion.
