Sumario:This paper aims to be a comprehensive and analytic overview of the development of Venezuelan theater in the first decade of the 21st century. We intend to analyze the co-relations present in Venezuelan theatre produced in Caracas from 2000 to 2010, and if the latter is in any manner a reaction to the political process established in the country in that decade, based on the dramaturgy written and staged in Caracas (main cultural center of the country), and the theatrical activity. It will also be our purpose to study cultural policies for theatre set forth by the revolution.
