| Sumario: | This article aims to consider the crisis of representation in the Argentinian theatre of the nineties through an analysis of Un momento argentino (2001, Rafael Spregelburd). The sociological notion of "crisis of representation" (Pucciarelli, 2002) will allow us to address the context of the political system lead by president Menem (1989-1999). Menemism characterizes the nineties both socially and culturally and is the focus of this work, which seeks to articulate the social and artistic dimensions of this process. On a social level, the key concept of this paper refers to the estrangement of the citizen from his political party of reference, and on an aesthetic level, it points to the definitive separation between object of representation and immediate reference. |
