Sumario:The length and exact chronological position of the reign of Sety I continue to be a subject of discussion among specialists in Egyptian chronology. Fortunately, various astronomical ephemerides linked to the reign of Ramesses II and other monarchs help establish effectively an absolute chronology for the reign of Ramesses II. This is essential when addressing, with complementary astronomical documentation, a precise chronology of the reign of Sety I. In the following lines we will address this issue, emphasizing the importance that ostracon DeM 21 could have.
