Sumario:This article is intended to share the results of a master thesis, for the of the University of La Plata. The study was meant to explore the conceptualizations of the writing system built by children, youth and adults with intellectual disability, who attend Special Education Schools and Elementary Literacy Centers in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. This article will develop the origin of the investigation, the cualitative methodological approach used to build the object of study, and the main results obtained from young and adult population with intellectual disability. In the conclusions, the pedagogic consequences involved in such results will be discussed for future research reference.
