| Sumario: | The studies about the academic profession in Argentina warn about the conjunction of a multiplicity of problems that affect the development of the academics functions. One of its problems is related to gender inequalities, which are expressed in the configuration of stereotyped roles and in the “glass ceiling”.
The study seeks to analyze the magnitude of gender inequalities in the academic field based on the results of the APIKS study (Academic Profession in The Knowledge-Based Society). The methodological design implied the application of a survey to a representative sample of teachers from national universities in Argentina. The survey was applied in 2019.
Despite the progress made in university policies to promote gender parity in the academic sphere, significant inequalities persist due to institutional factors and other external elements. Faced with this phenomenon, universities and governments must continue to strengthen their policies to promote gender parity. |
