| Sumario: | In this article I present the problem of the advance of the Wine & Tourism model in the Calchaquí Valleys, from Salta to the south, focusing on its double extractivism and the environmental and social risk it poses for the local population, especially for the territory of the Quilmes Indian Community, located in the Tucuman sector of the Valleys. I also suggest that there is a positive social construction that legitimises the model and helps to make its destructive effects invisible, based on the combination of values that operate in the different dimensions of economic productivity, consumption and class distinction, national identity and regional affiliation. |
