| Sumario: | This paper analyzes the last pages of the treatise De ludo globi by Nicolás de Cusa. More specifically, it focuses on the monetary example used by Cusanus, where the author presents a metaphor in which God is presented as an omnipotent mint-master, while the man is presented as a moneychanger or coin-broker. Starting from a reverse proposal, which goes from Cusanus’ gnoseology to the example, it is proposed to understand the underlying monetary conception. For a better comprehension of this conception, it has been analyzed a sermon, preached years before during his Bishopric in Brixen, as well as traced important contextual factors, and theoretical background. |
