| Sumario: | The paper attempts to delve into the concept of nomadism among the Tehuelches based on historical data of their movements referring to the period between 1770 and 1870. The specific objective is to characterize the nomadism of the aforementioned Tehuelche groups in the proposed period, given that the data from the sources are abundant. We do not know if this characterization will be valid to be projected back in time, in order to obtain an image of the pre-European moment. However, we hope this work will allows us to review some views on the life of the Tehuelche that present them as primitive, simple or without foresight and with features of disorganization in their economy, social and political life. |
