Sumario:In recent years, the study of cultural history has undergone an extraordinary development and, within that framework, the knowledge of society has been deepened through writing, publishing and reading. So, starting from considering that books acquire new life when they are recovered in their textual meaning, in their production conditions and their materialities, the Argentine editions of the 19th century present in the catalog of the Biblioteca de la Academia Argentina de Letras will be analyzed. It is understood that this approach allows studying texts in multiple dimensions. Thus, after passing from the world of print to the world of the reader, we will try to find answers to old questions –such as those found in the Almanaque Indicador Argentino (1899)– from new perspectives of understanding the multiplicity and differentiation of cultural practices, showing the author and his texts, the editor and the editions to reach the readers and the strategies deployed and shared senses around the books and readings in Argentina.
