Sumario:This article proposes a critical approach to the press discourse on music. It aims to unpack the mechanisms that generate press discourses through three main axes: a) the conception of the press as an archive; b) the notion of the press as an element of mediation; and c) the postulates of critical discourse studies. The aim is to examine how these elements act together and interact within logics of power that have to do with dominant structures, assuming that only by understanding them in their complexity is it possible to comprehend the discourses of the press and that a critical view allows for an alternative vision to those often proposed by the historical narratives of musicology.
