There are numerous books and articles published that have sought to define and theorize it. However, instead of clarifying or reaching a consensus on its meaning and scope, it is perceived that over the years it continues to be a vague and diffuse term, with multiple uses depending on the interests of those who enunciate it. In this article, based on an extensive bibliographic review produced in recent years on epistemological and methodological aspects of creative research, we seek to clarify confusions and propose alternatives to reconfigure the field. The discussion is based on the deductive and inductive methods to reach discussions and propositions, taking, as an empirical basis thesis, a master's program in Colombia, whose curricular construction was designed on the paradigm of creative research. As a result, the importance of defining critical and reflective creation as a third option between creation and creation research is argued. |

En los últimos años, el tema de la investigación creación (o investigación artística, como la suelen llamar en el ámbito europeo) ha cobrado especial relevancia en ámbitos universitarios. Son numerosos los libros y artículos publicados que han buscado definirla y teorizarla. Sin embargo, en lugar de aclararse o alcanzar un consenso sobre su significado y alcances, con el paso de los años se percibe que sigue siendo un término vago y difuso, con múltiples usos según los intereses de quienes lo enuncien. En este artículo, a partir de una amplia revisión bibliográfica producida durante los últimos años sobre aspectos epistemológicos y metodológicos de la investigación creación, se busca dilucidar confusiones y proponer alternativas para reconfigurar el campo. La discusión se apoya en los métodos deductivo e inductivo para llegar a discusiones y propuestas, tomando como base empírica trabajos de grado de un programa de maestría en Colombia, cuya construcción curricular se diseñó sobre el paradigma de la investigación creación. Como resultado, se argumenta la importancia de definir la creación crítica y reflexiva como una tercera opción entre la creación y la investigación creación. Nos últimos anos, o tema da investigação criativa (ou investigação artística, como é frequentemente chamada na Europa) ganhou especial relevância nos ambientes universitários. Existem numerosos livros e artigos publicados que procuraram defini-lo e teorizá-lo. Porém, em vez de esclarecer ou chegar a um consenso sobre o seu significado e alcance, ao longo dos anos percebe-se que continua a ser um termo vago e difuso, com múltiplas utilizações dependendo dos interesses de quem o enuncia. Neste artigo, baseado em extensa revisão bibliográfica produzida nos últimos anos sobre aspectos epistemológicos e metodológicos da pesquisa criativa, buscamos esclarecer imprecisões e propor alternativas para reconfigurar o campo. A discussão baseia-se nos métodos dedutivo e indutivo para chegar a discussões e propostas, tomando como base empírica trabalhos de graduação de um programa de mestrado na Colômbia, cuja construção curricular foi desenhada no paradigma da pesquisa criativa. Como resultado, argumenta-se a importância de definir a criação crítica e reflexiva como uma terceira opção entre a criação e a pesquisa criativa.
