| Sumario: | This paper will focus on the analysis of oral trials, which are seen as a judicial ritual whose procedure provides an ideal setting to fathom the relationships between power, use of language and use of space within the criminal justice system of the City of Buenos Aires. The hierarchical and regulation-ordered relationships displayed every day within the judicial power are reinforced through these juridical rituals and coexist with the principles of legality and equality before the law. In this sense, I will trace those elements in oral trials that will allow me to visualize the characteristics of a juridical culture that tests on the conflicting interaction between these two types of relationships. |
