Sumario:The article presents two different approaches to analyse the schooling process of Xakriabá indigenous people (north of Minas Gerais, Brazil): one based upon the ethnographic studies of school everyday life, on the cultural discontinuities and the construction of culturally based pedagogy; the other based upon the studies about the schooling process, point out to a possible crises of the schooled socialization model.
