Sumario:This paper studies sexual and marital practices of lndian women and Hispanic/Creole men in the frontier of Buenos Aires in the 19th century. lt explores the creation of a Métis culiure through the analysis of family, kinship and godparenthood ties seeking to illuminate from a different angle the relationship between heathens and Christians which has been mostly studied from the standpoint of  commerce, treaties and war.
