Sumario:This work expounds the initial results of research that analyzes agrarian structures in the region of the Mendozan Oasis from the 1750s to 1861. The study is centered in Mendoza, but it also includes the rest of the Cuyana region. By examining an archival series of ecclesiastical tithes between 1710 and 1830, the article brings into focus the influence of climatic cycles on agrarian production in addition to the changes in the market for Cuyano products over this long century. By so doing, it demonstrates how a productive and mercantile reorientation had taken place by the end of the period.
