| Sumario: | Nuestro trabajo se enfoca en la muerte de los héroes en la épica homérica a través de tres líneas analíticas que reflejan los factores determinantes del carácter heroico de dicho acontecimiento: el cuerpo, las honras fúnebres y la fama. En la consideración de estas instancias, observamos diferentes episodios de Ilíada y Odisea relacionados con el ofrecimiento y el rechazo de ritos fúnebres –en particular, el enfrentamiento entre Héctor y Aquiles– con el objetivo de determinar los efectos de este acto no sólo en la situación de la psyché en el inframundo sino, especialmente, en la gloria imperecedera del héroeentre los mortales.Our work focuses on the heroes’ deaths in Homeric epic through three analytic axes that reflect the determining factors of the heroic aspect of that event: the body, the funeral rites and fame. Considering these instances, we observe different episodes in the Iliad and the Odyssey related to the offering and the refusal of funeral rites, particularly the struggle between Hector and Achilles, with the purpose of determining the effects of this act not only on the situation of the psyché in the underworld but especially on the everlasting hero’s glory among the mortals. |
