It situates their research and publications in two contexts. The first corresponds to the conformation of research areas interested in the situation of women within the broader trajectory of professional anthropology in Mexico, comprising a historical period ranging from the beginning of the 20th Century up to our day.  The second refers to the incorporation of feminist theory and the gender perspective within critical anthropology from the seventies onwards. The central premise is that this process can be analyzed in terms of the creation and gradual delimitation of an epistemic sub-community within anthropology at international level. In this sub-community, important conceptual and methodological influences can be identified, under distinct thematic areas of the discipline.
