| Sumario: | The right to criminal defense is regulated in the different international instruments for the protection of Human Rights. The Human Rights Committee, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Court of Justice of the European Union, in their jurisprudence, have referred to the criteria and scope that are linked to the right to criminal defense. In this work we will address only some of the aspects that are linked to the right to criminal defense, such as the possibility of defending oneself personally, the right to have legal assistance, the right to public defense and the international responsibility of the State against technical and effective defense |
