| Sumario: | This thesis is focused on how the identity and communications strategies applied in periodical art publications are handled, based on the corpus -both material and visual- of Artinf. Arte informa and Arte al día magazines. Taking these publications as objects of study will enable us to examine and compare their materiality, formats, contents, compositional structures and graphic resources -visual and textual- and to investigate and analyze two Argentinean periodical publications which have not been subjected to thorough study to date; it will allow us to explore the different discursive characteristics of art magazines edited, produced and put into circulation in the greater Buenos Aires area during the seventies and until the beginning of the new millennium. Scrutinizing transformations in the visual identity of this duo will also permit consideration of project-based practices? emergence, the corresponding discourse and the graphic strategies that sustain editorial design as a discipline, and how this enters into forms of marketing logic, the art market and cultural industries. |
