| Sumario: | The city of Santiago de Chile is a clear example of capitalist urbanization, where the land market and the conception of land as a tradable good have defined a diffuse and segregated territory that has had a profound impact on Santiago society. Class differences are spatially detected, with clearly delineated sectors for the rich and for the poor. These differences are correlated with deep inequalities and imbalances in terms of access to goods and services. There is no full right to access the city. \nConsequently, in the last three years, social Integration has become a fundamental axis of urban public policies. One of the instruments that have been installed for this purpose is the Social and Territorial Integration Program of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, which consists in the execution of housing projects which incorporates in the same space vulnerable and middle groups providing both with good accessibility to goods and city services. \nThrough the contrast between a quantitative and a qualitative analysis of the location of social housing projects generated from the Social and Territorial Integration Program in Santiago, Chile, it is suggested that they are not really integrated into the city, therefore they are not they allow to grant the right to the city or to reduce the inequality gap between the different social groups. |
