| Sumario: | In the first decades of this century, the issue of mobility in groups distinguished by age, physical conditions, gender, were problematized with a greater number and types of studies, recognizing the need to understand that populations are heterogeneous, with characteristics that define them and affect their behaviors. In this way, in the mobility fild, the observation, understanding and systematization of modal choices, focusing on motivations, has become the subject of a large number of researches, in order to trying to understand and develop patterns that explain their behaviors. We are interested in studying women's mobility, in particular their modal choices, their motives and perceptions, based on some assumptions or lines of research: first, women's mobility is oriented towards the use of public transport or active modes, to the detriment of the private car, reserved mostly for men?s choices; secondly, women make more trips to satisfy care activities, generally located near their residences. In this sense, in the following work, it will be proposed to analyze the women?s mobility , in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Region, based on the data that from the EnMoDo household surveys carried out in 2009 - 2010 by PTUMA and in the survey carry out in 2014 by the INDEC, in capital cities of the southwest corridor. At the same time, we will proceed to analyze the mobility and gender public policies and the current plans in the territories under study, with the objective of carry out an evaluation of them, in order to elaborate reflections and recommendations that result in improvements for the exercise of their movements and a more inclusive and universal use of public space. |
