Sumario:Abstract: In the present paper it is argued that the productions of the Committees created by the human rights treaties, although considered as soft law instruments, constitute a source of autonomous international law for the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. These productions are used to build international standards with which possible violations of the American Convention by the States Parties are judged.
