Sumario:Title: Brief analysis of the measures taken by Mercosur to contain the spread of the pandemic and their impact on international. -- Abstract: The worldwide spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has led most States to adopt exceptional measures to contain it, including restrictions on access to their territories. Simultaneously, the existence of conflicts, humanitarian crises and multiple forms of persecution continues to force thousands of people to flee their homes and seek international protection across borders. The tension between the need to safeguard public health and guarantee the human right to asylum has not been alien to Mercosur and its Member States have imposed its own regulations to deal with the dilemma. Despite joint recognition of the disproportionated impact of the pandemic on refugees and displaced persons and the regional commitment with international protection, responses have been varied, to the detriment of the human right to asylum, evidencing the absence of a common position as a bloc.
