| Sumario: | Title: The development of a common citizenship in regional integration processes: MERCOSUR. -- \nAbstract In this article, the citizenship of MERCOSUR will be analyzed, for which the notions of sovereignty, regional integration, national citizenship, regional citizenship and the process of its construction will be studied and developed. Likewise, an analysis will be carried out on issues that have not been duly promoted to achieve the purpose of the MERCOSUR Citizenship Statute for 2021: the consolidation of the Mercosur citizenship. Although it is considered that there are more reasons for which it is still not possible to speak of a regional citizenship, this research will focus on three issues in particular. They are named as: Mercosur identity and regional integration, the participation of civil society within the MERCOSUR framework and the promotion of the institutions that constitute the intergovernmental bloc. Furthermore, throughout this analysis, numerous advantages of the constitution of a MERCOSUR regional citizenship will be mentioned. |
