Sumario:Miticide activity of thymol on Varroa destructor Anderson & Trueman mite in an apiary in production was evaluated in 2006 and 2008. Thymol, in commercial formulation Naturalvar® at doses of 32.12 g applied every 15 days in two divided doses of two tablets of vermiculite placed on the heads of the frames of the brood chambers, showed an effi cacy of 81% in 2006 and 82% in 2008, respectively. These results suggested that thymol could be considered as an effective organic product for varroosis control within a program of Integrated Pest Management.
