Sumario:Abstract: Professional ethics as an LLB subject should be taught indisputably if the social relevance that the practice of this profession implies is accepted. However, if we take the University of Buenos Aires Law School as an example, the subject professional ethics is not compulsory within the LLB's curricula. Such omission seems unjustified if we take into account that teaching professional ethics to law students during the LLB can bring important benefits in their future practices as legal professionals, which directly impacts the society that depends on them, among other things, to solve their conflicts. Incorporating this subject as compulsory would mean a significant step forward although not enough. The true challenge would be to incorporate professional ethics as a cross-subject discipline with the additional purpose of orientating the current eminently medieval model of the University of Buenos Aires Law School towards a Humboldtian model.
