Sumario:The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), based on the principles pointed out in the Convention of International Civil Aviation signed in Chicago on 7th December 1944, has as aims and objectives to develop the air transport system on the basis of the efficiency, regularity and safety. The implications of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 in the territory of the United States, led to the enhancement of the current preventives measures and procedures, and also the leit motiv to prepare new legal documents in order to avoid, or at least to attenuate, the acts of illicit interference against the international civil aviation. All the procedures, and also the new technological tools plus the legal framework represented by multilateral conventions dealing with aeronautical criminal law, are the effective "arsenal" to fight against the aeronautical terrorism. Through the cooperation, coordination and collaboration of all and every Contracting States (191) those important tools could be an appropriate element to achieve the success in this sensitive field
