Sumario:The legislative unification established by the new Argentine Civil and Commercial Code approved under Act No. 26994 does not involve the unification of civil and commercial rights but only a compilation of said rules in one central statutory body to which special and ancillary civil and commercial laws contribute. Commercial Law Principles are still present in the new Code and still govern the interpretation and application of laws of a commercial nature. In case of conflict between said principles, the interpretative choice and resolution of the matter at issue must be -as a consequence of the harmonious action of such principles- acceptable and, as a result of the mobile hierarchy of the colliding principles, we must establish the interpretation and the fairest and most equitable solution according to the circumstances of the case under a reasonableness criterion.
