| Sumario: | Forced displacement in the context of disaster is a reality and is one of the greatest humanitarian challenges facing States and the international community in the 21st century. People are forced or compelled to leave their homes or places of habitual residence as a result of a disaster or in order to avoid the impacts of an immediate and foreseeable natural hazard. Disaster displacement creates humanitarian challenges, affects human rights, impairs the development, and may in some situations affects security. It is necessary to know and evaluate the effectiveness of existing international instruments that contribute to the protection of internally displaced persons and those cross-border disaster displaced persons. |
