| Sumario: | The recognition of intersexuality and transsexuality as possibilities in Colombia, following individuals' struggle for their bodies and identities, has also been achieved by the action of the Constitutional Court. Within that process, the High Court, by means of its case law, has confronted fundamental components of heterosexuality as a political system: sexual dimorphism; sex as an objective and fixed datum; the stable and exhaustive male and female identities; and the action of institutions that guarantee heterosexuality: biomedical power comprising knowledge and practices that seek to generate truths and protect them, as well as the State's technologies such as the Registry Office to guarantee the true and correct sex, and therefore the recognition of the subjects' humanity. This article studies the path taken in the country during the 20th century for the establishment of the dichotomous and biological heterosexuality, as this determined which bodies and identities were possible and legitimate, and which ones were not. Then, it sets out the way in which the Constitutional Court has faced these constructions, creating fractures within the heterosexual order. It presents conceptual transformations, as well as their limitations and loopholes, in a period of 25 years of labor - one of remarkable processes concerning the redefinition of the bodies. |
