Descripción
Sumario:This paper compiles and reviews the recent case law of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights related to protection against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. With this aim, I analyze the most salient aspects of the decisions adopted in the cases "Atala Riffo and Daughters vs. Chile", "Duque vs. Colombia", "Homero Flor Freire vs. Ecuador" and "Ramírez Escobar and others vs. Guatemala", and in the Advisory Opinion Nº 24/17, about gender identity and the rights of same-sex couples. The article ends with conclusions that synthesize these advances and highlight their importance at the regional level.
