Sumario:In Mexico, the evolution of secularism and the freedoms associated with it (conscience, religion and worship) must be studied through national constitutionalism. Even though our country began its independent life with a pronounced confessionalism, the constitutional texts of the nineteenth century and especially of the twentieth century promptly shaped the Mexican secular state. In this regard, the central idea of the present remarks lies in highlighting the rules and provisions on the subject that have been contemplated in the various constitutional texts in force from 1824 to the present day.
