Sumario:This research addresses the contribution of the service-learning methodology in developing skills regarding human rights education at the Universidad Católica del Norte's Law School. An elective course called "Learning at the Service of the Community" offered from 2013 to 2015 it has been an instrument of progress in the active learning of Law. This research uses focal groups and semi-structural interviews to obtain the appreciation of students regarding the development of their skills surrounding the human rights topic. The results show that the students value the skill, acquiring abilities that will remain with them throughout their professional careers. Moreover, the students develop a new perception of the role that human rights play in society.
